Fear is a necessary part of life, as a coping mechanism to threats. Past experiences may have left you fearful of repetition in the future.
As Thich Nhat Hanh, a Vietnamese monk, says, “Every time your fear is invited up, every time you recognize it and smile at it, your fear will lose some of its strength.”
Be mindful of your fear and do not attempt to avoid its triggers. Instead acknowledge the fear you hold, and accept it.
Accept that which you can not change and have courage to make the right decisions about that which you do.
Pay more attention to positive events, not negative ones. Rediscover your sense of purpose and actively participate in healthy behaviours.
